Guiseppe's love of music began at an early age playing sax, piano, guitar and mixing beats. This naturally led to dabbling in dances such as swing, contra, break, hip hop, bachata and various performing arts, but it was the discovery of urban Kizomba in Europe, that sparked the fire to learn and continue to perfect and enjoy this beautiful dance.
Guiseppe’s Kizomba obsession has led him to seek out and learn from not only some of the best instructors in the US but all across Europe. Guiseppe has taken these influences and experiences and combined them with his personal musical pedigree and extensive martial arts background to create a unique teaching style that breaks down in detail, body mechanics, balance, intention, timing, sensitivity points, leading, following, connection, form, leverage, improvisation and musicality. Many of these Kizomba secretes are rarely if ever taught, yet they are essential for both advance and beginner dancers who want to take their Kizomba experience to another level.
Rachel is a dedicated educator as well as the founder and director of Embodied Dance. Her deep passion is to unite people and build community, as well as to inspire and foster joyful, mindful, expressive, and connected movement through dance. She has worked in the public school system for over 13 years where she has taught ELA, dance, mindfulness practices and curricula, as well as organized various dance teams and outreach programs and events.
Rachel began her dance journey in 2006 when she discovered Zumba while working as a fitness instructor. She fell in love with the music, dance movements, and cultural essence from which Zumba was inspired, and this motivated her to formally learn Latin and Brazilian partner dances. This initial passion led her to Buenos Aires in 2009 where she discovered and fell head over heels in love with Brazilian Zouk. She had never before experienced a partner dance that embodied such flow, connection, and dynamic yet natural movements. A few years later, she was introduced to Kizomba through one of her Zouk teachers and found this dance to be the essence of meditative movement with a partner. Learning Zouk and Kizomba transformed Rachel's perception of partner dancing. Since then she has been dedicated to traveling, training, teaching, and organizing festivals, retreats, and events to help spread her love for these beautiful dance forms and inspire a life of connection, joy, and presence.
